Trouble seems to have found Kamali and Ebun. Enjoy.
A thudding sound made him lift his eyelids.
Light filtered into the shadowed room from the hallway through the part-open door. Beside him lay an empty bed.
“Ebun?” He swung his feet over the side of the bed, picked up his discarded boxer-briefs and pulled them on.
He strode out, the cool tiles under his bare feet contrasting with the warm air of the corridor. There was an air-conditioning unit in the bedroom and in the living room but none in the passage.
He could see the dining table and an open, working laptop on it. A video flickered but had no sound.
